About this Position

At Texas Mutual, writers play a key role in communicating a clear and consistent brand message. In this role, you will collaborate with business units and marketing professionals to develop content for internal and external publications. You’ll also ensure all materials meet established standards for appearance and content. This individual will work both independently and with a team, so creativity, attention to detail, and strong writing and editing skills are essential. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
Develop, write and edit emails, brochures, marketing flyers and other content for internal and external audiences. Develop and execute communications plans for company initiatives. Research and analyze background information, as necessary, for communications. Manage and lead editorial projects, including print and electronic media. Publish content for social media websites and blog. Serve as division representative on company wide project teams, as necessary. Keep current with national, state, and local trends by researching workers' compensation insurance information.

Candidate Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations. At least two years of related work experience. This position is available as a staff writer or senior staff writer position, depending on experience. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Extensive knowledge of the English language and communication principles. Working knowledge of Associated Press style.

Preferred Qualifications:
Intermediate to advanced HTML knowledge. Insurance industry experience or knowledge.
