The Internal Communications Partner will lead the internal communications strategy and execution for the organization, with a goal of keeping employees connected, engaged and informed. This role will collaborate closely with executive leaders and colleagues from across the company to develop and implement plans and programs to communicate Hanger’s business strategies, initiatives, culture and values to its employees. Reporting to the Vice President of Public Relations and Communications, the Internal Communications Partner must be an experienced professional with excellent writing, editing, content creation, and presentation skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to transition seamlessly between the strategic and tactical level.

Critical to the role is the ability to communicate in a voice consistent with Hanger’s values and culture.

  • Own the internal communications strategy, including managing both proactive and reactive internal communications needs, determining key messages and the right channels to deliver them. Includes the creation and implementation of plans and materials to inform and engage employees across the organization, with tactics including but not limited to: companywide emails, intranet articles, key messages/Q&As and presentations.
  • Provide dedicated internal communications support for executive leadership and departments across the company to develop and implement internal communications plans to support ongoing programs and updates such as quarterly earnings communications, project-specific communications plans, and change management initiatives.
  • Drive efforts to optimize employee communications model, including enhancing current procedures and defining new effective and efficient communication protocols for the enterprise.
  • Develop effective metrics for tracking the efficiency and success of internal communications programs.
  • Provide leadership enterprise-wide with strategic internal communications counsel.
Candidate Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field is required
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience within a large corporate communications environment to include a significant focus on internal communications is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience within a large corporate communications environment with a focus on internal communications to include service within a publicly-traded healthcare setting strongly preferred

Additional Success Factors:

  • Extensive work experience in internal and strategic organizational communications
  • Experience with change management; demonstrated ability to manage change and to create communication programs that support effective large scale change initiatives
  • Experience with or extensive knowledge of social intranet strategies and management, including Salesforce, preferred
  • Excellent writing, proofing and editorial skills.
  • Fluent in AP style
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects according to enterprise objectives, while exhibiting flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Build effective relationships as a trusted partner, using strong influencing skills at the senior management level
  • Ability to partner with employees at all levels
  • Capable of understanding perspectives of multiple audiences and able to develop content focused on the specific needs of various employee types and roles
