Job Description:
Every day, Freese and Nichols’ engineers, planners, architects, and scientists are solving the challenges facing our communities. We’re looking for a skilled communicator in Austin, Fort Worth, or Dallas to tell the stories behind those solutions. This person will produce internal and external communications, oversee digital platforms, and manage projects, all in support of our sales and recruitment strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Writing feature articles about projects, people and technical topics
  • Reporting Freese and Nichols news by finding newsworthy stories and presenting them in a strategic way
  • Managing digital platforms such as website, intranet and social media
  • Interviewing technical staff, corporate leaders and clients• Working with subject matter experts to produce articles on technical topics
  • Managing projects with multiple stakeholders, contributors or vendors
  • Editing and proofreading content in accordance with our style guide
  • Contributing to other areas of marketing and sales as needed
Candidate Qualities:
  • Excellent writing, reporting, interviewing and editing skills
  • Ability to translate technical information into PR and marketing messages
  • Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in web and social media platforms
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Basic skills in graphics and photography
  • Video experience is a plus, but not required
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • At least six years’ relevant experience or at least five years plus certification (APR, CPSM, PCM, etc.)
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry is highly preferred
